KUALA LUMPUR: The proposed sale of a controlling stake in Boustead Plantations Bhd (BPlant) has put the Armed Forces Fund Board's (LTAT) choice of buyer under scrutiny, challenging it to secure the best value while safeguarding contributors' long-term interests.
SD Guthrie Bhd, Tradewinds Plantation Bhd and Achi Jaya Plantations Sdn Bhd have been reported as contenders for the plantation business.
Their proposals require LTAT to weigh sale proceeds alongside each buyer's financial capacity, operational experience and commitment to developing the estates.
The differences between competing offers are understood to range from about RM300 million to RM800 million, depending on the proposals being compared and their respective terms.
