GEORGE TOWN: Island Park residents are living in fear after a massive boulder crashed down behind their homes, prompting urgent calls for action by the authorities.
The rockfall occurred three days ago beside a road directly behind homes along Lorong Tembaga.
Affected resident Datuk Dr T. Jayabalan said he was concerned about the stability of the slope, adding that the boulder landed dangerously close to two homes occupied by elderly residents.
"I am worried that should the boulder shift or roll further, it could cause injuries, property damage or obstruct the road.
