KUALA LUMPUR: Shamsul Iskandar Akin, the former senior political secretary to the prime minister, has applied to the sessions court for the permanent release of his passport to attend programmes in several European countries.

Shamsul filed the application on Sept 30, stating in his supporting affidavit that the permanent release of his passport would allow travel to other countries for work.

He is scheduled to fly to Frankfurt and London this month, followed by Ireland next month and Bosnia and Herzegovina in December.
