There is no indication that Melaka would make any difference.
PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) may be able to take credit for the Unity government’s successes while keeping its distance from its failures, even as its tie-up with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Malacca lets it chase a separate electoral goal, a political analyst has said.
International Islamic University Malaysia political analyst Assoc Prof Dr Syaza Shukri said BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH) had strong reasons to preserve their federal partnership despite competing against each other at state level.
“If there are shortcomings in the current government, BN can say they fall under PMX. But when there are positive developments, it can say, ‘We are together in the Unity government’,” she said.
