KUALA LUMPUR: Beluran member of parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee has warned against using constituency allocations as a political weapon to secure support from certain parties.

He said allocations should be distributed fairly to all elected representatives, regardless of party.

"The government cannot use power, influence and the strength of its majority to use allocations as a political weapon. If that is happening, it must stop," he said.

Speaking during the committee-stage debate on the 2027 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat, Kiandee said a law on equal allocations to all MPs should be tabled in Parliament, rather than leaving distribution to the prime minister's discretion.
