Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced in the Dewan Rakyat that six ‘sick’ infrastructure projects under his ministry are facing contract termination after failing to improve physical progress.
KUALA LUMPUR: Six ‘sick’ projects under the Ministry of Works (KKR) are now facing contract termination after recovery efforts failed to improve their performance.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the move reflected the government’s firm stance against contractors who failed to fulfil their responsibilities despite the government having met all its obligations.
He said a project was classified as sick if it was more than 60 days or 20 per cent behind its original contractual schedule, whichever came first.
