BALIK PULAU: Police have arrested 35 foreigners suspected of operating an online love and gold investment scam syndicate during raids in Bayan Lepas.
Southwest district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuwal Ab Wahab said the operation was conducted about 2.10pm on Nov 2 by the district Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), together with the Penang contingent CCID.
He said the raids targeted two residential premises in Bayan Lepas.
"Those detained comprise 33 Chinese national men, one Chinese woman and one Taiwanese man," he said in a statement today.
