KUALA LUMPUR: National men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun defeated Taiwan’s Chen Zhi Ray-Lin Yu Chieh to march into the quarter-finals of the Korea Open Badminton Championships in Yeosu today.
The third-seeded Malaysians, who won the French Open title last month, needed 33 minutes to subdue the world No. 32 Taiwanese pair 24-22, 21-12 in their round-of-16 clash at Jinnam Stadium.
World No. 9 Wei Chong-Kai Wun will face the winners of the all-Japanese round-of-16 clash between Takuto Goto-Tsubasa Yoshida and Haruki Kawabe-Kenta Matsukawa for a place in the semi-finals.
