The term ‘blue wave’ was used to describe BN and PN’s electoral gains in the Negeri Sembilan state election, where the two coalitions collectively won 25 of the 36 seats on Aug 1.KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin expects a “blue wave” similar to the US midterm elections to occur in the upcoming Melaka state polls, following what he claimed was a political resurgence that began in Negeri Sembilan.
He said the US midterm elections showed that people could reject the government when policies implemented failed to benefit them, especially when it comes to dealing with the rising cost of living.
“We started a blue wave in Negeri Sembilan. America is copying us.
“If that was a tsunami, then God willing, there will be another wave in Melaka,” he told a press conference at the Parliament building.
