PH is contesting 24 seats in the Melaka polls while Bersatu is vying for seven, with the two set to clash in three seats.PETALING JAYA: With fewer than 10 days to polling day, analysts say it will be difficult for Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Bersatu to rebuild trust among their supporters and achieve a meaningful transfer of votes at the Nov 14 election in Melaka.
Tawfik Yaakub.Tawfik Yaakub of Universiti Malaya said vote transfer between the two sides would not be easy given their history of hostility, particularly following the 2020 Sheraton Move which led to the collapse of the PH government.
He said staunch Bersatu supporters might also find it difficult to accept DAP candidates, who have long been targets of their criticism, while PH supporters continue to harbour political resentment towards the party led by former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
