KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching City's Asean Club Championship (ACC) debut ended in a 2-2 draw against Singapore's Tampines Rovers in their Group A opener at Stadium Taha Ariffin in Petra Jaya on Wednesday.

Japanese forward Yositaka Furusawa opened the scoring in the 13th minute for the visitors, firing a left-footed shot from the left side into the bottom-left corner.

Gabriel Peres drew level for the hosts in the 87th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box, but Koya Kazama restored Tampines Rovers' lead a minute later with a shot from inside the box.

Peres then completed his brace four minutes into added time with a header to salvage a point for Kuching City.

Kuching City will next host Indonesian side Borneo FC Samarinda on Dec 9.
