IPOH: All Education Ministry schools and educational institutions in Kinta Utara, Kinta Selatan and Kuala Kangsar have been ordered to close immediately due to worsening haze.
Perak Education Department director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar said the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at the Tasek monitoring station in Ipoh reached 180 at 11am today.
Home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) will be implemented during the closure, while teachers and members of the Implementing Group are required to work from home, subject to current directives and operational requirements.
Parents and guardians have been advised to follow the department's official channels for updates on when schools will reopen.
He added that further announcements on the reopening of schools will be made through the Perak Education Department's official channels.
