KUALA LUMPUR: EP Manufacturing Bhd has partnered with China's Hebei Shichang Auto Parts Co Ltd to invest RM100 million in a new fuel-tank manufacturing facility to supply Proton Holdings Bhd.
The facility, to be located at EP Manufacturing's hub in Batang Kali, Selangor, will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 plastic fuel tanks.
Deliveries to Proton's Tanjung Malim plant are scheduled to begin in March next year.
The joint venture supports Proton's expansion plans while strengthening Malaysia's local automotive component supply chain and its potential as a regional manufacturing and export hub.
