KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will have two chances to rewrite Asian Games history tomorrow after matching their best-ever haul of nine gold medals on a memorable 14th day of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

The men's hockey team and padel pair Christian Didier Chin-Aidan Yunus will carry the country's hopes of securing a record-breaking 10th gold, which would surpass the nine won at Guangzhou 2010.

The Speedy Tigers face India in the men's hockey final at Gifu Stadium, while third seeds Christian-Aidan will take on Qatar's top seeds Mashari Naif-Rashed Naif in the men's doubles padel final.

Christian-Aidan booked their place in the gold-medal match after staging a superb comeback to beat Iran's second seeds Farsad Shahi-Amirmohammad Jamshidi 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the Nagoya City Higashi Sports Centre.
