KUALA LUMPUR: : Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah missed out on the French Open women's doubles title after impatience in attack crept into their game, national coach Rosman Razak said.
Japan's world No. 3 Yuki Fukushima-Mayu Matsumoto recovered to beat the fourth-ranked Malaysians 10-21, 21-17, 21-16 in 63 minutes at Arena Grand Paris on Sunday to retain their crown.
The defeat ended Pearly-Thinaah's bid for back-to-back Super 750 titles following their Denmark Open victory the previous week.
Rosman said their early tactic of varying shot placement and patiently constructing attacks worked against the Japanese pair, but they struggled to maintain discipline as the match wore on.
