LIPIS: The Pahang government has spent RM3.78 million to prepare and supply dry food rations to 167 forward bases in 11 districts ahead of the northeast monsoon, which could trigger floods.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the essential supplies were distributed to the bases today as part of the state's annual flood preparedness measures.
"We carry out these preparations annually as a proactive measure. Dry food supplies are stockpiled in advance for distribution to residents in the event of floods.
"Early logistical preparations are crucial, particularly in remote areas at risk of being cut off by road, such as Jerantut, Lipis and Pulau Tioman," he said in a statement.
