Several individuals linked to the petrol station in Sungai Buaya, Nibong Tebal, Penang, are under investigation.PETALING JAYA: A petrol station in Sungai Buaya, Nibong Tebal, Penang, was found to have misappropriated the BUDI Madani subsidy after police investigations were launched following complaints from recipients that their MyKad information had been used without their knowledge to purchase subsidised petrol.

The finance ministry's review of the petrol station's records found that over 1,000 transactions were done using a manual bypass method.

These transactions involved over 100,000 litres of petrol, with subsidies amounting to more than RM270,000, the ministry said in a statement.

The finance ministry has immediately barred the petrol station from selling RON95 petrol and subsidised diesel under the BUDI Madani scheme. The ministry also withheld subsidy payments to the station, with an initial amount of more than RM270,000, subject to further adjustments.
