KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Health (MOH) aims to obtain a policy decision from the Cabinet on the establishment of the Health Service Commission this year and, if approved, table the Bill in Parliament by the end of the 15th Parliament at the latest.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the establishment of the commission would further strengthen the management of human resources and the welfare of healthcare personnel, covering all 86 service schemes under the MOH.
He said the commission would not have the authority to create new positions, formulate the remuneration system or determine emolument rates, as these functions fall under the purview of the Public Service Department (PSD) and the Ministry of Finance.
