Abu Bakar said he met Takiyuddin, who is also Perikatan Nasional secretary-general, in Kuala Lumpur, while the coalition's top leadership will announce the outcome of the meeting.

Abu Bakar, who has been suspended from Bersatu, admitted facing challenges maintaining Perlis's stability, bolstering its economy and looking after the people.

"We have to work hard regardless of the situation. Politics is politics, but what's more important is ensuring stability and the people's wellbeing," he said, according to Berita Harian.
