KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Faizal Tahir was deeply touched when Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil turned down free tickets and insisted on buying his own to attend the Faizal Tahir: Suara Rakyat concert at Unifi Arena, Bukit Jalil.

Speaking after the Saturday night show, the 48-year-old artiste shared his gratitude for the minister's support.

"I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil for joining us tonight. Thank you, I really appreciate it. I wanted to give him free tickets, but he refused and insisted on buying them instead," he said.

The star-studded event was also attended by Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh.
