KUALA LUMPUR: Former Melaka chief minister Adly Zahari's past performance is unlikely to be a decisive factor in Pakatan Harapan's chances in the Nov 14 election, as voters are more likely to assess the coalition based on its overall performance, a political analyst says.

Prof Dr Azmi Hassan said voters were more likely to consider a party's overall capability than the performance of an individual candidate.

Even if Adly faced criticism during his two-year tenure as chief minister, Azmi said it would not be the decisive reason should PH fail to form the state government.

"Adly's past performance as Melaka chief minister will not be the benchmark because voters view the party as far more important than the individual.
