GEORGE TOWN: Police arrested a 28-year-old man at Penang International Airport after finding 40kg of cannabis buds worth RM3.2 million in his luggage.
The suspect, a Sarawakian from Miri, was detained about 5pm on Oct 18 at the waiting area near Gate B1 by officers from the Penang Narcotics Crime Investigation Department.
Penang police chief Datuk Dennis Lim said the suspect was believed to be acting as a drug courier after being offered a job to transport the drugs to London.
"He claimed that this was his first time carrying out such an activity and that someone instructed him to deliver the luggage overseas.
