Thirty local traders registered RM207,000 in total sales during the 2026 Malaysian MotoGP thanks to the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry’s Litar Rasa Madani initiative, which absorbed their stall rental fees.
PETALING JAYA: Thirty local traders recorded RM207,000 in sales over three days at the 2026 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) through a government initiative that provided them with rent-free business stalls.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the initiative was continued at the MotoGP following its successful implementation during the Formula One (F1) event earlier in October.
He said major sporting events such as the MotoGP presented significant business opportunities because of the large crowds they attracted, but high rental and logistical costs often prevented small traders from participating.
