Finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan speaking in the Dewan Rakyat today. (Bernama pic)KUALA LUMPUR: The government will gazette an order by the end of this year to enable Sabah to receive the remaining RM900 million of its RM1.5 billion special grant, says finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan.
He said RM600 million had already been paid, with the balance to be disbursed after the order is gazetted.
“God willing, the order will be gazetted before the end of this year. The balance will be paid once that is done,” he said when winding up the debate on the finance ministry’s budget allocation for 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat.
Amir was responding to Wilfred Madius Tangau (GRS-Tuaran), who asked when the remaining amount would be paid.
