Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin chaired a political bureau meeting this evening.

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu has confirmed that it will take part in the upcoming Melaka state election, with the Perikatan Nasional component to contest under its own logo amid its ongoing tiff with PAS, which chairs the coalition.

Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali also said the party is ready to hold talks to form electoral pacts with others, having initially said it will not work with other parties in the polls.

"The decision to form electoral pacts in the Melaka polls is aimed at boosting the potential of a stable, moderate and progressive state government being formed.

"Bersatu appeals to the people of Melaka to give Bersatu's candidates the opportunity to represent them in the legislature and bring meaningful change," he said in a statement.
