Human resources minister R Ramanan said he had directed Perkeso to spare no effort in strengthening its monitoring and enforcement efforts.PETALING JAYA: Human resources minister R Ramanan has revealed that nearly 600 high-profile individuals, including MPs and state assemblymen, have failed to pay Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) contributions for their domestic workers.
He said the figure was part of 10,033 employers of domestic workers identified as having failed to fulfil their obligations, based on checks conducted as of Nov 1, Utusan Malaysia reported.
“I want to stress that a person's position, rank, influence or status is no excuse for neglecting their responsibilities as an employer. The law applies to everyone without exception.
