IPOH: A local company supervisor was left empty-handed after suffering losses amounting to RM143,599.90 after falling victim to a non-existent stock investment scam through a social media advertisement in an incident in Hilir Perak on November 4.
Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said initial investigations found that the 35-year-old victim was attracted to the stock investment advertisement before being contacted by an individual posing as an investment agent, and was subsequently duped into making several fund transfer transactions to bank accounts provided by the suspect.
