MELAKA: Political leaders must prioritise the future of the younger generation over personal wealth and interests, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the country's future depended on leaders committed to safeguarding public funds and ensuring children from all communities had access to better opportunities.
"I am a Malay and a Muslim. What do I stand to lose by showing that I care for Malay, Chinese and Indian children? They are all our children.
"If we look after everyone in this country, we can lift the nation. But if people keep stealing public funds to make two or three individuals rich, there will never be enough to go around," he said at a Pakatan Harapan campaign event in Paya Rumput.
