KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police are awaiting more information from Laos police on the seizure of 521kg of methamphetamine from a private jet at Luang Prabang International Airport.

According to Bukit Aman, a Malaysian is believed to be among 13 people detained by Lao authorities following the seizure of the drugs.

The private aircraft arrived from Malaysia at Luang Prabang International Airport on Oct 1.

Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police have yet to receive detailed information on the case from their Lao counterparts.

"So far, we have not received any information or details from the Lao drug authorities.
