KOTA BHARU: Police have arrested a man suspected of stabbing his wife six times in an incident at Kampung Padang Lepai, Kadok, here, on Monday.

Kota Bharu district police chief Azmir Damiri said the 47-year-old suspect was remanded for seven days until Oct 12.

"The suspect was detained to assist in the investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code," he told Bernama today.

The victim’s mother, Zubaidah Abdullah, said her daughter, a nurse, suffered six stab wounds to her body and neck before being rushed to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for treatment.
