KUALA LUMPUR: National squash player Yasshmita Jadish Kumar sacrificed one year of her studies, and it led to her improving her world ranking by 27 rungs.

The 22-year-old from Negri Sembilan, who started the year at world No. 89, is now ranked 62nd.

She took a one-year break from her business management studies at Western London University in England to train in Cairo last October under coaches Andrew Shoukry and Ahmed Faragallah.

And Yasshmita has decided to take another one year break to continue training in Cairo.

She shone in her last two PSA World Tour events.
