JOHOR BARU: All schools in Johor will be closed tomorrow and Friday following a decree by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, amid worsening haze and deteriorating air quality across the state.
Johor Education and Information Committee chairman Dr Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali said the closure was a precautionary measure to protect pupils' health and safety.
"Following the decree of His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, all schools throughout Johor will be closed for two days on Oct 8 and 9 due to the haze and deteriorating air quality across all districts," he said in a statement today.
