BEIJING: Actress Li Bingbing has credited her younger sister, Li Xue, for playing a pivotal role in her rise from a modest upbringing in northeastern China to international stardom.
The 53-year-old actress and her 51-year-old sister have built a formidable professional partnership, with Li Xue transitioning from journalism to become her manager in 2000. Together, they later co-founded Hesong Entertainment, a talent management company representing performers across generations.
"Without my sister, I would not be where I am today," Li Bingbing has said, acknowledging the sacrifices and support that have sustained her career over the decades.
The actress has more than 42 million followers on Weibo, while Sohu News estimates her personal wealth at more than over 1 billion yuan (about RM701 million), although the figure has not been independently verified.
