KUALA LUMPUR: An arrest warrant was issued today against one of the eight men accused in the 2022 kidnapping of a Palestinian man after he could not be located.
High Court judge Arief Emran Arifin issued the warrant against Iqmal Abdul Rahis, 31, after the court was informed that efforts to locate him had been unsuccessful.
During case management today, deputy public prosecutor Zaileen Nadia Zubir told the court the authorities had been trying to locate Iqmal since Sept 11, including by visiting his hometown in Banting, Selangor.
“The accused’s father said his son had not returned to his hometown since January,” she said.
