Residents holding placards outside Parliament to protest the proposed housing project in Bukit Jalil.KUALA LUMPUR: A coalition of residents’ associations is calling for a proposed government housing project in Bukit Jalil to be scrapped, arguing that it deviates from the Kuala Lumpur Local Plan (PTKL) 2040.
Gabungan Persatuan Penduduk, which comprises the Bukit Jalil, Bandar Kinrara, and Taman Puncak Jalil residents’ associations, said it was frustrated by the government’s continued push for the project despite widespread local opposition.
“We are aggrieved by the government’s decision to push ahead with a mega project involving 17,000 housing units at Bandar Madani Bukit Jalil, without taking into account protests from the local community,” the coalition's chairman, Zainuddin Zainal, said.
