KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Construction Bhd will undertake design-and-build works for the Sanglang Port Development Project in Perlis, which has an estimated development cost of RM1.2 billion, including RM675 million in initial construction costs.
The project will be developed in phases to strengthen Perlis' maritime connectivity and complement existing logistics infrastructure, including the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Free Commercial Zone, Perlis Inland Port (PIP) and Chuping Valley Industrial Area.
Berjaya Construction will work with Mutiara Perlis Sdn Bhd, the port's owner and developer, on procurement, design, engineering and construction.
The proposed port will feature two multi-user terminals, a roll-on roll-off (Roro) terminal and a general cargo terminal along a four-kilometre trestle, with water depths of up to 11.9 metres.
