KUALA LUMPUR: The e-Jamin court bail payment system operated for five years without a formal contract with the federal government, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said today.

PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the system, which has been operating at 192 courts nationwide since Jan 10, 2020, had no Letter of Appointment, Letter of Acceptance, Letter of Intent, or formal contract with the government throughout that period.

She said the absence of a formal contract exposed the government to risks if system operator Dapat Vista faced financial difficulties or liquidation.

"Of the RM193.71 million in bail deposits held in the account as at Dec 31, 2024, Dapat Vista was found to have invested RM130.8 million under the company's name.
