MELAKA, Nov 7 — Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) track record as a key component of the federal government should serve as a yardstick for Melaka voters to assess the coalition’s capabilities ahead of the 16th Melaka State Election on November 14, said Pasir Gudang Member of Parliament Hassan Abdul Karim.
He said the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had a good record in governance, particularly in creating employment opportunities for the people.
“Official government employment and investment statistics show that hundreds of thousands of new jobs have been and are being generated by the Madani government,” he said in an open message to Melaka voters and the public yesterday.
Citing data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Hassan said the domestic economy had generated an average of 20,000 to 35,000 new jobs every quarter between 2023 and 2026, in line with a decline in the unemployment rate to between 3.1 and 3.3 per cent.
