PETALING JAYA: Malaysian women are hardly strangers to the idea that products developed elsewhere may not always suit them perfectly. Bra sizing, foundation shades and skincare have all undergone some degree of regional rethinking as brands recognised differences in body shape, skin tone and climate.
Yet when it comes to footwear, the conversation around “Asian fit” has remained surprisingly limited.
This is especially curious given that shoes are one of the products in which poor fit is immediately physical. A pair may look perfectly fine in the mirror yet pinch across the forefoot, rub at the heel, or place pressure on the toes after only a few hours.
