KUANTAN: A neighbour expressed shock over the death of a 19-year-old student whom she had spotted walking with the male suspect near Jalan Air Putih just hours before the incident.
The woman, in her 40s, who declined to be named, said she saw the pair walking along the main road about 9pm yesterday.
"I saw them last night and was shocked when I was informed about the girl's death about 6am today. I know her as a well-mannered person.
"The victim and three other girls, who study at the polytechnic here, rented two rooms in the three-storey house near my place. I usually see them walking together or taking e-hailing rides to attend classes," she said when met near the victim's rented room today.
The woman said the four girls moved into the house about six months ago and often walked around the neighbourhood in pairs.
