PETALING JAYA: Jealousy is believed to have been the motive in the death of a 19-year-old female student who was found unconscious at a rented house in Air Putih, Kuantan, police say.
Kuantan police chief Ashari Abu Samah said the student, from Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic, and her boyfriend had known each other for about a year, Bernama reported.
He also said police had recorded statements from the victim's three housemates.
It was previously reported that preliminary investigations suggested the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the couple.
