KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is poised to match or potentially exceed last year's record palm oil production, with the industry entering the final two months of 2026 firmly on target, said Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.
Noraini said production was currently in line with the ministry's target, while expressing optimism that output could be at least on par with or better than last year.
"We have another two months. But I'm looking at it positively and with the aggressive marketing being carried out by the industry, we can at least be at par or better than last year," she said.
Noraini was speaking to reporters at the Malaysian Palm Oil Forum 2026 today.
In her keynote address, she said Malaysia's palm oil production reached a record 20.28 million tonnes in 2025.
