KUALA LUMPUR: Good governance and strong enforcement are needed to curb illegal land encroachment, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

Anwar stressed that such violations should not be taken lightly as they could affect national planning and public interest.

Speaking after chairing the 83rd National Land Council meeting, Anwar said issues raised by stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations, must be addressed promptly to ensure accurate and transparent communication.

"Good governance must continue to be upheld and any form of illegal land encroachment must not be taken lightly as it could affect national planning and the interests of the people," he said in a Facebook post.
