KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian and actor Gbob of Raja Lawak fame passed away yesterday morning at Selayang Hospital. He was 40.
His mother, Hayati Abdul, shared that Gbob—whose real name was Muhammad Hamizi Hashim—suffered a seizure ten days ago, causing him to fall and sustain bleeding on the right side of his brain, Harian Metro reported.
He was rushed to Selayang Hospital, where he passed away peacefully at 10am.
Gbob had previously suffered left-sided brain bleeding in 2019, which caused a stroke.
While his condition had gradually improved, Hayati noted: "Throughout this year, he was occasionally unwell, admitted to the ward, and suffered seizures, but none were as severe as this time."
